Swedish dairy packs quark range in RPC's thermoformed pot

PKBR Staff Writer Published 14 July 2017

Swedish dairy producer Skånemejerierne has selected thermoformed polypropylene container designed by RPC Superfos to pack its new range of quark products.

The Swedish dairy company’s Lindahls Kvark brand products are now being sold in the all-new SuperLight pot from the Danish packaging firm.

The decision was taken after Skånemejerierne had halted its imports from Germany as it rather wanted to produce and pack the quark product range in-house.

Weighing 500g, the SuperLight pot gets its decoration through offset printing in six colours. It comprises artwork for each of the 25 flavours in the Lindahls Kvark quark product range.

The flavours which have got the new packaging format include vanilla, strawberry and coconut alongside other varieties like the low-carb lactose-free raspberry.

According to RPC Superfos, the change of packaging has gone unnoticed by end-users which was a key aspect for the dairy producer.

Skånemejerierne purchaser Thore Bengtsson said: “The aim of the entire project was to maintain the same packaging standard as before, with only ourselves noticing the changes.

"We asked RPC Superfos to deliver the same type of pack as the one we used to import, and we got what we asked for, even within a very tight time schedule. We’ve had superb cooperation with RPC Superfos, who have given us the right product quality, service and support on time and according to plan.”

Quark being high in healthy protein content is highly popular among athletes and fitness lovers.

Skånemejerierne’s quark production has turned out to be more cost-efficient following the swapping to its own filling line. The dairy producer plans to further consolidate its position in the Swedish and other European markets.
